H-1B Cap Lottery Reached for FY 2025
With the holidays fast approaching, the FY 2025 H-1B cap has finally been reached. This marks the end of the annual H-1B lottery for 65,000 regular cap petitions and 20,000 advanced degree exemptions.
How It Works
U.S. employers seeking to hire foreign workers submit registrations, which enter a lottery due to high demand. Selected applicants can file H-1B petitions, while non-selected entries receive “Not Selected” notices.

- Selected registrations: 135,137
- Selection rate: Just under 29%
