About Anna Ksor Buonya
Anna Ksor Buonya, Of Counsel at Francis Law, is an experienced Immigration Attorney known for her empathetic and effective approach to a wide range of immigration matters.
Anna’s journey in immigration law is deeply personal. Arriving in the U.S. as a Montagnard refugee and becoming a U.S. citizen by 16, she has lived the challenges and triumphs of the American Dream. Her early experiences shaped her passion for immigration law, which was further fueled by her academic pursuits. Anna is a proud alumna of the University of North Carolina – Greensboro, where she made history as the first Montagnard woman to graduate from a four-year university in the U.S. She later earned her J.D. from Elon University School of Law, focusing on International Law with significant overseas experiences in Vietnam, Hong Kong, and China.
Professionally, Anna started her career focusing on Refugee Advocacy and Policy, collaborating with non-profit organizations to support Montagnard communities and advocating for human rights in U.S. Congressional hearings. She transitioned to corporate immigration, initially within a Fortune 500 tech company’s internal team, before moving to large corporate law firms. Here, Anna has excelled in managing visa applications and providing strategic immigration counsel across various industries, from technology to healthcare and beyond.
